Daylilies Hemerocallis We like the multi blooming types such as Stella d’Oro, and these shorter types may be planted in front of SunPatiens or off to the side. For a nice effect, use the taller types behind SunPatiens. The flower stems will bloom over the top of the SunPatiens, and the drying foliage will remain hidden.
Helichrysum Silver Licorice and other silver foliage creepers look good with SunPatiens in patio containers or as a foreground plant in landscape
Lobelia Dark blue Lobelia may be planted in front of SunPatiens. Look for long bloomers such as Rivera or the new
Arcade
series, which does well in the heat
Petunias Either Wave petunias as a creeping foreground plant or the more mounded, multi-flora types for sides or foreground.
Pentas This full sun and high heat loving annual will work well. Rose colored flowers should be planted in front or beside SunPatiens.
Portulaca This blooming, succulent-like annual will take full sun and heat and will form a carpet in the front of SunPatiens. We like Yubi-Summer Joy as a series with strong colors.
Salvia Annual red flowered, Salvia, works well in front of SunPatiens . Use taller, perennial types off to the side. Blue colored, Victoria Blue Salvia will be a nice contrast.
Geraniums Plant mass geraniums in garden beds with SunPatiens; both love the sun.
Verbena All Vebrbena will do well. Our favorites include the Patio Temari series, the new Magalena series, and the time tested Homestead Purple. All should be used in the front as foreground plants.
